In large machinery Non-standard part machining When it comes to manufacturing non-standard precision mechanical components, although there are many little tricks involved, knowing and mastering these techniques can significantly boost efficiency and double your results with half the effort. In the following article, a manufacturer specializing in non-standard parts will guide us through some commonly used techniques in the machining of standard precision mechanical components.

Technology 1:
Non-standard precision mechanical parts machining—removing the claw and machining two M4 threaded holes. Two steel plates, each 1.5 mm thick, are flush with the fixture. A hard brass plate, 0.8 mm thick, is riveted in place using aluminum rivets and secured with M4 counter-sunk screws. The chin feature is designed as a durable, soft chin guard; according to the non-standard parts manufacturer, this design helps prevent the delicate mechanical components from getting stuck.
Technology 2:
Non-standard part machining The conventional technique for handling precision mechanical components—such as using magnets to attract small, precision parts—is inconvenient. A metal plate could easily get sucked under the magnet. Not only can it hold many small, precision parts, but it can also be easily removed. The small, precision parts then automatically fall into a collection bin, making this method highly practical.
Technology 3:
In horizontal CNC machining, if the pulley slips relative to the axle during operation, you can use a 15–18 mm countersink drill bit to create a series of recesses on the axle, thereby generating an adhesive force that prevents slippage.
Technology 4:
Workpieces typically used in the machining of non-standard precision mechanical parts are usually clamped after being positioned. However, for certain workpieces, clamping might cause damage or deformation. Therefore, for such workpieces, it is essential to first secure them firmly, then position them carefully, identify six positioning points, and determine which degrees of freedom need to be constrained. Large-scale manufacturers specializing in the machining of non-standard parts place great importance on both the quality and efficiency of processing non-standard precision mechanical components.
In a broad sense, it encompasses mechanical components such as standardized fasteners, connectors, actuators, seals, hydraulic components, pneumatic components, bearings, springs, and more. In a narrower sense, it refers exclusively to standardized fasteners. The term “standard fasteners,” commonly known in China, is a shorthand for standardized fasteners in the narrow sense; however, the broader concept cannot be ruled out. Additionally, there are industry-specific categories, such as automotive components and mold components.
Non-standard part machining Key manufacturer’s note: The country has not established strict standard specifications or specified relevant parameters. As a result, enterprises have considerable freedom in controlling other accessories and non-standard components, which come in many varieties. Currently, there is no highly standardized classification system for these items. The general categories are as follows:
1. Non-standard metal parts
The customer provides drawings, and the manufacturer uses these drawings along with specialized equipment to produce the corresponding products. Typically, there are many different molds involved, and the customer specifies the tolerance requirements and finishing standards. There is no fixed standard procedure. From casting to final finishing, the products require rigorous quality control at each stage. The manufacturing process is complex and highly variable, so the costs generally exceed those of standard components.
2. Non-metallic non-standard parts
Processing of non-standard parts made from non-metallic materials, such as plastics, wood, and stone. In recent years, the injection molding industry, plastic mold development, surface design, CNC programming references, and the cost and tolerance levels for non-standard machining have all seen significant improvements.
