An assembly line is a combination of humans and machines that fully demonstrates the flexibility of equipment. It organically integrates conveying systems, accompanying fixtures, dedicated in-line machinery, and inspection equipment to meet the assembly requirements of multiple product varieties. Also known as a production line, an assembly line is a type of conveyor line. Assembly lines are operational lines used in manufacturing and can be broadly categorized into: powered and non-powered roller conveyors, plate-chain conveyors, flow-rack conveyors, wall-mounted assembly lines, belt conveyors, differential-speed chains, trolley assembly lines, manual (universal ball) assembly lines, filling lines, and others.

An industrial assembly line is essentially equipment used in assembly-line systems for the conveyance and production of products. Based on the type of conveying chain (or conveyor belt), it can be categorized into the following types:

  (1) Multi-speed chain conveyor: Also known as differential-speed chain or acceleration-chain conveyor, production lines composed of these conveyors are commonly referred to as "self-flow conveying systems." They are widely used in the assembly, sub-assembly, inspection, and debugging operations for medium- and small-sized household appliances.

  (2) Roller conveyor lines: Roller conveyor lines can be further divided into two types of conveying mechanisms—non-powered and powered. They are widely used in the packaging industry and are also employed as auxiliary conveyors in certain other types of production equipment.

  (3) Chain-plate conveyor: The chain-plate conveyor uses metal plates as its conveying chain and can handle large volumes of relatively heavy items. Therefore, chain-plate conveyors are particularly well-suited for use in heavy industrial production processes, such as automobile manufacturing and television assembly.

  (4) Conveyor belt line: The conveyor belt line is a common type of production equipment with a wide range of applications, used in industries such as food, electronics, packaging, and chemical processing.

  (5) Trolley Conveyor Line: The trolley conveyor line uses chains to drive trolleys that run in a horizontal loop, performing operations such as work aging, testing, and assembly. It is widely used in processes including online vacuuming, commercial inspection, foaming, and aging for household appliances, refrigerators, and other products.

  (6) Mesh belt conveyor: A mesh belt conveyor is a type of conveyor equipment that uses a metal mesh as its conveying medium and is commonly used for drying products.
