What is CNC machining? Generally speaking, CNC machining refers to precision mechanical processing controlled by computer numerical control. CNC, also known as "computerized milling," is a new type of machining technology. Its primary task is to create machining programs—essentially converting manual operations into computer-based programming.
As is well known, CNC machining centers are particularly suited for processing parts that are complex, involve numerous machining operations, have high precision requirements, and necessitate the use of various types of conventional machine tools as well as a wide array of cutting tools and fixtures—parts that can only be completed after multiple setups and adjustments. The primary types of parts typically machined on CNC centers fall into five categories: housing-type components, complex curved surfaces, specially shaped parts, disc- and sleeve-like components, and special-purpose machined parts. Given the broad application scope of CNC machining centers and the wide variety of workpieces they can handle, many enterprises rely on these centers for the machining of precision parts and molds.
